Back In Stock: How to Set Up and Manage Notifications

This article will help you learn how to use Boost Back In Stock (BIS) feature with Boost and keep your customers informed about your stocks

📖 The Boost Back In Stock feature is designed to notify customers when a previously sold-out product becomes available again. By allowing shoppers to subscribe for restock notifications, you can keep them engaged, improve sales opportunities, and gain valuable insights into product demand.

⚠️ This feature is available only for Turbo users on the Essential plan or higher and the following Boost Template versions:

  • Default: 2.23.0 => 2.24.0

  • Dawn: 2.23.0 => 2.24.0

  • Impulse: 1.6.0 => 1.7.0

  • Warehouse: 1.6.0 => 1.7.0

  • Symmetry: 1.5.1 => 1.6.0

  • Prestige: 1.0.0 - 1.1.0


Back In Stock settings

Enable Back In Stock Feature

  1. Navigate to Boost App Admin > Pre-order > Back in stock > Back in stock settings.

  2. Toggle Enable Back In Stock Feature to activate the feature.

    • When enabled, the "Notify Me" button will appear on all out-of-stock products except those already part of active pre-order campaigns.

⚠️ To enable the feature for pre-order products, select the checkbox labeled “Show Notify Me button on pre-order products.”

Product Settings for Back In Stock

  • Show 'Notify Me' button if any variants is out of stock:

    • Select the checkbox to display the "Notify Me" button for all product variants if at least one is out of stock.

  • Show ‘Notify me’ button on pre-order products:

    • Select the checkbox to display the "Notify Me" button for pre-order products.

⚠️ This setting will only apply for pre-order products with out of stock stock condition.

  • Hide 'Notify Me' button for products within a specific collection:

    • Use this setting to exclude specific collections from displaying the "Notify Me" button. Upon activation, you can select the desired collection(s) to hide it from.

  • Hide 'Notify Me' button for products with a specific tag:

    • Use product tags to exclude items from displaying the "Notify Me" button. Upon activation, you can select the desired tag(s) to hide it from.

⚠️ IMPORTANT

The Hide 'Notify Me' settings take precedence. For example, if a product belongs to a collection or tag excluded from the button display, the Notify Me button will not appear regardless of other settings.

Customize Display Settings

You can modify the appearance of the Notify Me button, subscription form, and confirmation message:

Button

  • Button Text: Change the default text from “Notify Me When Available” to match your brand's tone.

  • Text and Background Colors: Use the color pickers to adjust the button's look.

  • Real-Time Preview: View changes instantly in the preview panel before saving.

Sign up form

  • Header: Change the default text from "Notify me" to match your brand's tone.

  • Description: Change your form's description text to match your brand's tone.

  • Button: Change your Call-to-action submit button's text.

  • Text and Background Colors: Use the color pickers to adjust the button's look.

  • Real-Time Preview: View changes instantly in the preview panel before saving.

Confirmation message

  • Confirmation message: Change your sign-up submission message to match your brand's tone.

  • Text and Background Colors: Use the color pickers to adjust the success banner's look.

  • Icon color: Use the color picker to adjust the success icon's color.

Remember to click Save settings after you are done to save your changes.


Back In Stock Subscriptions

Accessing Subscription Data

  1. Navigate to Boost App Admin > Pre-order > Back in stock > Back in stock subscriptions.

  2. View all email subscriptions collected from customers in a table format, sortable by date, product, or variant.

Managing Submissions

Navigate to Boost App Admin > Pre-order > Back in stock > Back in stock subscriptions > Submissions tab.

Import/Export

⚠️ Only available on Submissions tab.

  • Import: Upload your CSV file to import your subscriber list to the subsmissions table.

  • Export: Download your subscriber list as CSV/Excel format. The date range access depends on your current subscription plan:

    • Essential Plan: Access data for up to 90 days.

    • Professional Plan: Access data for up to 180 days.

Add subscriber

You can manually add subscribers to your products by clicking + Add subscriber button.

  • In Product information, choose the product you'd like to subscribe for the subscriber.

  • In Subscriber information, enter the subscriber's email address.

Click Save to make your changes.

Key elements

  • Subscriber: Shows email address of the subscriber.

  • Product: Click to navigate to the Shopify product page of the subscribed product.

  • Variant: Displays the subscribed product variant.

  • Subscribed Date: Shows when the subscription was made.

  • Actions: Delete individual entries.

Filter and Search options

  • Use the search bar to locate specific entries by product name or email address.

  • Adjust the date range using the picker:

    • Essential Plan: Access data for up to 90 days.

    • Professional Plan: Access data for up to 180 days.

Managing Subscriptions

  • Delete a Subscription:

    • Click the Delete button in the Actions column.

    • Confirm the deletion in the pop-up window. A success message will appear once completed.

  • Empty Subscriptions: If no data is available, a placeholder screen will indicate no subscriptions have been collected yet.

Managing subscribed products

Navigate to Boost App Admin > Pre-order > Back in stock > Back in stock subscriptions > Subscribed products tab.

Key elements

  • Product: shows product name; you can click it to navigate to its product page in Shopify Admin

  • Variant: shows the variant of that product that users subscribe to.

  • Available quantity: shows the current stock level for the product.

  • Last added: showing the last time that product was subscribed

  • Action: allows deletion of a product from the subscription list with a confirmation pop-up.

Filter and Search options

  • The table defaults to sorting by the Subscribers column, with the most-subscribed product at the top.

  • Use the Filter Rules to display products based on availability:

    • Less than or equal to 0: Shows products with no stock.

    • More than 0: Displays products with available inventory.

  • Use the Search Bar to locate specific products by name.

Manage subscribed products

  • Delete a subscribed product:

    • Click the Delete button in the Actions column.

    • Confirm the deletion in the pop-up window. A success message will appear once completed.

  • Empty: If no data is available, a placeholder screen will indicate no subscriptions have been collected yet.
