📖 Send Boost events to Attentive to power SMS/email journeys and segments.
Events Boost sends to Attentive
These custom events appear on the subscriber’s Activity log in Attentive once the person is identified by Attentive and interacts with Boost.
Event (prefix [Boost]) | When it triggers |
Clicked search result | Shopper clicks a product from Boost search (Instant Search widget or Search results page). |
Clicked product | Shopper clicks a product on a collection using the Boost template. |
Clicked recommendation | Shopper clicks a product in a Boost recommendation widget. |
Added to cart | Shopper clicks Add to cart anywhere on the storefront (captured by Boost). |
Added bundle to cart | Shopper clicks Add bundle to cart on a Boost bundle. |
Pre‑Order Added to cart | Shopper clicks Pre‑order on a Boost pre‑order. |
⚠️ Due to Attentive limitations, it usually takes 30–60 minutes for a custom event sent from Boost to be recorded.
How to integrate Attentive with Boost AI Search & Discovery
⚠️ IMPORTANT
This feature only works with Boost AI Search & Discovery TURBO. To find out which version of our app your store's current theme is installed with, please follow this article.
Your store theme uses the latest Boost template version (OS 2.0 compatible). To verify this, please follow this article.
In Shopify, open Boost AI Search & Discovery.
Go to Integration > Third party integration > SMS & Email.
On the Attentive: SMS Marketing tile, click Configure.
Turn on Integrate Boost with Attentive.
You’ll be redirected to Attentive to confirm permissions.
After you confirm, Boost is connected and will start sending events automatically.
Verify Boost events in Attentive
In Attentive, go to Subscribers.
Open a subscriber profile and switch to Activity.
Look for Custom Event, Attentive — Event Captured rows showing the Boost event name (e.g., Boost Added To Cart, Boost Clicked Search Result).
Create an Attentive journey triggered by Boost events
In Attentive, go to Journeys > Create journey > Start from scratch, then name the journey.
On Choose a journey trigger, select one of the available Boost events (they appear if Attentive has captured them).
Choose Send a message about something else > Get started.
Add Actions and Rules as needed.
Turn on or Schedule the journey.
Build a segment in Attentive using Boost events
In Attentive, go to Segments > Create segment.
Select Dynamic segment.
Set the condition to A subscriber’s activity, then choose a Boost event from Custom events.
(Optional) Click Filter to narrow by event properties such as
productName
,productId
,productCategory
,variantId
,productUrl
,timestamp
, and more.
Example: Select Boost – Added To Cart, add a filter whereproductName
equals a specific item to target cart adders for that product.
Expected result: The segment updates in real time based on Boost event activity.
