App limitations

πŸ’‘ While Boost AI Search & Discovery works diligently to ensure compatibility with various third-party apps and services, we have identified some constraints that may impact the full functionality of the Shopify translator integration. These limitations are specific to our app and are not reflective of any shortcomings on the part of Shopify translator.

Multiple apps are required to be installed to show the translations on storefront

To show translations on the storefront, you need to add both apps: Geolocation and Translate & Adapt by Shopify.

Field with Variants Cannot Be Translated

A field with variants cannot be translated, even if it is entered in "Custom". In this case, you should go to Translation in the Boost AI Search & Discovery app admin to rename the label as desired.

For example: {{count}} products

Limiting number of elements that can be translated

With the element built by the BSD app, you cannot translate the following elements:

  • Filter tree

  • Toolbar

  • Instant search widget

  • Metafields

  • Product variant in Recommendation widget

However, you can translate any other page or element that comes from the original theme

Only these fields below can be translated in the Product Item:

  • Product title

  • Product option

  • Product descriptionProduct variant

Rest assured, we're actively working on addressing these limitations and improving the integration's performance to provide accurate and comprehensive translations for your store. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to enhance our app's capabilities.
