Customize your search page without results

When your search engine fails to produce relevant results, our app offers tailored solutions. These solutions empower you to configure your 'no results' search pages to display helpful content, ensuring users receive meaningful information or alternatives despite the absence of direct search matches. For examples:

Here's how you can guide each customer towards discovering items of potential interest upon arriving at a 'no results' search page:

1. From the app’s admin, go to Search > Standard Search.

2. Go to the Search page without results tab.

3. In the No result message field, fill in the message that you'd like to deliver to your customers.

πŸ’‘ Tips: The phrase {{ terms }} within the message refers to the actual search query entered by users into the search box. This dynamic placeholder serves as a representation of the specific terms used in the search, ensuring a personalized response that addresses the user's input directly.

4. Switch on the following buttons of components that you want to display on "no results" search pages:

  • Display search tips: When enabled, the page will show a custom message that prompts customers to search again or offers any potential next steps to follow. You can edit the title of this section in the Title field, and enter the advice in the Search tips field.

  • Display search term suggestions: When enabled, the search engine will show the 10 most highly suggested terms based on your store data. You can edit how this section will appear on your storefront in the Label field and select either Display search term suggestions based on your store data or Add search terms manually in the Search term list section.

πŸ’ͺ Display search term suggestions based on your store data: Once this is selected, the top 10 most searched terms based on search analytics from the past 7 days and the search term suggestion you’ve created in the Suggestion Dictionary (if any) will be displayed. If there is no data available, this section will be hidden. In such cases, we recommend manually adding suggestions instead.

πŸ’‘ Add search terms manually: Once this is selected, make sure you add at least 1 search term suggestion when selecting this option to avoid the No result message. Also, after the search term(s) are manually added, you can re-order or delete them.

  • Display most popular products: When enabled, you can show up to 10 products on "no results" search pages. You can edit how this section will appear on your storefront in the Label field. In the Product list section, select Display best-selling products based on your store data to display the top 10 best-sellers in your store based on your store data. Or you can select Add products manually to show the top 10 product recommendations of your choice.

πŸ’ͺ Display best-selling products based on your store data: Once this is selected, the top 10 best-performance products based on search analytics from the past 7 days will be displayed. If there is no data available, this section will be hidden. In such cases, we recommend manually adding products instead.

πŸ’‘ Add search terms manually: Once this is selected, you can add manually the products you'd like to recommend to your customers on your "no results" search page. Also, after the product(s) are manually added, you can re-order or delete them. Please make sure you add at least 1 product.

5. Click Save settings to save your changes or Discard to reset.
