📖 We have simplified your process of adjusting and optimizing your Search settings by introducing a “Test your search” feature.

Introduction

Preview how your search settings rank products—without switching between admin and your storefront.

What you’ll see

  • A search box to enter a query.

  • A rule summary listing any active search rules.

  • A results list in the exact order shoppers will see, including boosted and demoted items.

To use Test your search

To access this feature, please follow these steps:

1. From app admin, go to Search > Test search or From any Search feature's page, on the top right corner, select Test your search.

2. Enter your test search terms. Make sure to check your Rules table so that no intended features are missing

💡 If no rules are applied to your search results, the rule table will not appear.

3. (optional for Product performance ranking) Turn on the Compare mode view so you can see the changes being applied to a search result with and without the Product performance ranking feature

4. Inspect your listed products and confirm whether the products are in your desired arrangement

5. (optional) If a configurable product rule needs to be modified, you can click on the pencil icon on the right side of the rule table to be re-directed to the setting pages

Interact with the result products

You can see the product details of any result products by clicking on them and a pop-up window will appear.

Prerequisites

How it works

  • Toggle Compare mode to view two columns:

    • With Product Performance Ranking

    • Without Product Performance Ranking

  • Rankings may differ based on live metrics (e.g., clicks, add‑to‑carts, purchases).

  • If no query is entered, both columns remain blank. Enter a query to populate results.
