📖 In this guide, we will walk you through the process of setting up Hand-picked Boost AI Search & Discovery Recommendation widgets to enhance your storefront's appeal and functionality.

Understanding Hand-picked product recommendation
Manual settings help you pick or modify the recommended products in a recommendation widget.
It can be applied to this type of recommendation:
Hand-picked products: Manually select up to 15 recommended products and set up their orders in this widget.
Create hand-picked product recommendation
To create a hand-picked product widget in the app’s dashboard:
1. Go to Recommendation > Recommendation widgets.
2. Click Add new widget.
3. On the Recommendation type section, select Product page > select Hand-picked products > click Next.
💪 Currently, the Hand-picked recommendation widget is available on all page types: Homepage, Collection page, Cart page, Product page.
4. In the Recommendation settings menu, in the Conditions section, click the Search products box to select the main product(s) that you'd like to display the Hand-picked recommendation on its product pages. To pick the list of products included in the widget, click Search products in the Consequences section and repeat the same step.
⚠️
Each product can only have one rule (list of recommendations) applied at the time. When you can't find a product here, please check if it already has an existing rule.
There are a maximum of 15 recommended products for one main product.
Main products with the same Consequences should be added to the same rule group. For each widget, you can set up to 100 rule groups.
5. Click Add product to complete your action, or Cancel to cancel.
6. To delete a product, click the trash bin icon button.
7. To add a new rule group, click Add new group.
8. Click Next.
9. Edit the display of your widget. Preview and if you're satisfied with what you're looking at, click Save & next.
10. Complete the last two required steps:
Step 1: Enable app embed "Boost Core". You can watch this tutorial video for instructions.
Go to Shopify Admin > Sales channel > Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embed > Enable Boost app embed.
Step 2: Add the app block "Boost Recommendation"
Please add the app block “Boost Recommendation” to the page. Be sure to paste the widget ID productpage-xxxxxx into the block to display the proper recommendation widget. You can watch this tutorial video for instructions.
11. Click I'm all done to finish.
Edit a hand-picked product recommendations widget
Widget layout
Adjust the Maximum recommendations / Number of products per row on PC by inputting your desired amount or clicking the arrow buttons.
Widget title
1. Insert your widget's name into the Widget name box.
2. Style - you can select from two options:
Default design settings (no further action required)
Customization: Create your custom widget.
Alignment: Left/Center.
Text: custom text style. Learn more about how to adjust them here.
Tick Save Widget title settings above as Default if you want to keep these settings for all your next widgets.
💡 You can change the design elements of the widget from our theme settings. Go to Theme > Set up the feature on a theme (if you have yet to) > Edit visual design > Customize the settings on the Product item section.
