REVIEWS.IO Integration Guide

This article will help you learn how to integrate Boost with REVIEWS.IO

How to integrate REVIEWS.IO with Boost AI Search & Discovery

  1. Install REVIEWS.IO to your Shopify store's apps.

  2. Go to Boost AI Search & Discovery > Integration > Third-party integration > Select Product reviews tab.

  3. Click Configure the REVIEWS.IO Product Review integration > Toggle on Integrate Boost with REVIEWS.io.


Display rating and number of reviews

Follow the bellow steps to enable the Show product rating option on each template where you want ratings to appear. All themes that use these templates will automatically display product ratings (reviews).

  1. Go to Integration > Shopify Integration menu > Select a theme you want to display the Product rating

  2. Click Customize

3. Go to Product item settings > Additional information > Turn on the check box Show product rating

⚠️ If you find the Product item settings are not available, you need to upgrade your Boost template to the latest version first. For example:

4. Click Save and you're set!


Filter option by reviews attribute

Overview

Turn structured customer reviews from REVIEWS.io's attribute feature into Boost filters.

How to set up

⚠️ Before we begin, make sure you have:

  1. In Boost app admin, go to Filters > Filter trees.

  2. Create a new filter option by creating a new filter tree or customizing an existing one.

  3. In the Filter tree settings > Click Add filter options.

  4. Select this option type: Reviews attribute (Exclusively for Boost x REVIEWS.io)

  5. Select the Attribute value (Only active product attributes in REVIEWS.io that have customer responses will be synced for filter setup).

  6. Name your filter option in Option Label.

  7. (Optional) Check the Advanced tab for your filter option's advanced settings.

  8. Click Save.

What happened when an attribute is deleted/deactivated?

  • If you delete or deactivate an attribute in Reviews.io, its data stops syncing. Any related filter will remain visible on your storefront until you manually disable it in Boost.

  • If you disconnect Boost and Reviews.io, all review-based filters are automatically disabled in Boost and hidden from your storefront.


Apply review data into search & recommendations

Overview

Boost can use Reviews.io data to improve search and recommendation ranking.
Factors considered:

  • Rating score (1–5 stars): higher-rated products rank higher.

  • Review count: products with more positive reviews gain visibility.

  • Sentiment: positive sentiment boosts promotion.

Ranking priority:

  1. Relevance

  2. Product performance score (conversion rate, add-to-cart rate, CTR)

  3. Review data (sentiment score > rating 1-5 stars)

💡 You may sometimes see products without reviews ranked above those with higher ratings. This is expected when their relevance or performance score is stronger.

How to set up

  1. In Boost app admin, go to Integration > Third-party integration.

  2. Find REVIEWS.io and click Configure.

  3. Connect your REVIEWS.io account.

  4. Toggle Display reviews on filter option by ratings and product items to enable.

💡 The first time you enable, Boost takes about 30 minutes to train review data. You’ll see changes on your storefront after this period.
