Frequently asked questions for GMV-based pricing plans.

Written by Thomas Ta

Who can subscribe to the new GMV‑based pricing?

Merchants who install Boost on or after October 20, 2025.

I’m on a Legacy plan. Can I switch to the new GMV‑based pricing?

Please don't hesitate to reach out to Boost support via live chat for further instruction if you'd like to migrate your Boost subscription to GMV-based pricing. Here's how:

  1. On your live-chat windows, select Billing/Subscription query

  2. Select I want to migrate my Boost subscription to GMV-based plan

  3. Fill in the required information

  4. Our team will get in touch with you as soon as they can.

Why don’t I see the new plans in my account?

If you subscribed before October 20, 2025, you are on a Legacy plan and not eligible for the new pricing yet.

Why do I not receive notification emails from Boost AI Search & Discovery?

Boost AI Search & Discovery will send all notification emails to the store owner’s mailbox as a way we protect customer privacy. If you are the store owner and you have never received a notification email, you can consider checking and changing your store owner account email from your Shopify admin. This email address is used to contact you about your Shopify account, and it is separate from the store contact email address that your customers use to contact you.

Do you offer an annual subscription/a one-time payment?

Unfortunately, we have not developed either an annual pricing plan or a plan that accepts a one-time payment. If you love to upgrade your free trial to a paid plan, Boost AI Search & Discovery offers a variety of monthly plans so that you can find one that fits the needs of your business.

Do you offer a refund policy?

Yes. We also offer a 21-day free trial so you can evaluate Boost AI Search & Discovery with full support before paying.

App subscription

  • Most recent billing cycle: If you decide to discontinue, you may request a refund for your most recent app subscription cycle.

What happens when my plan exceeds its GMV limit?

If your Base GMV exceeds your current plan's GMV limit, an overage fee of $2 per $1,000 of extra GMV applies. The fee is charged once in the month it occurs, alongside your subscription.

Your overage fee is capped to protect you from large unexpected charges:

  • In your first billing month: the cap matches your current plan's subscription fee.

  • From the second billing month onward: the cap updates to match the subscription fee of the tier that fits your new Base GMV.

If you expect continued growth, you can upgrade to a higher plan at any time to lower your fees and unlock more features. For full details and examples, see GMV-based Pricing plan overview.

How much will I pay if my Base GMV spikes in my first billing month?

To protect you from unexpected cost spikes during your first billing cycle, the overage fee is capped at your current plan's subscription fee in your first month. From the second billing month onward, if overage still applies, the cap follows the tier that matches your updated Base GMV.

For a full worked example, see GMV-based Pricing plan overview.

I saw a notice that my GMV looks unusual. What does that mean?

Sometimes Base GMV can spike for reasons that don't reflect your actual sales, such as importing historical orders into Shopify. When we detect a pattern that looks unusual, we automatically pause your overage fee for that billing month and ask you to contact support so we can review your data.

If you see this notice, click the support chat link in the banner to open the chat. Our team will verify your data and confirm whether the overage applies.

Can I change packages later?

Yes—provided your new Base GMV is not lower than the GMV limit of the target plan (e.g., Base GMV $110K cannot subscribe to Launch 3 at $50K).

Are add‑ons available under the new pricing?

No add‑ons are offered under the new pricing.

Does Shopify plan type affect Boost pricing?

No. Under the new pricing, we don’t distinguish between Shopify Plus and regular Shopify.

Will I lose my settings if my trial ends and I don’t subscribe?

No worries! Your settings are safe. They'll remain if you decide to subscribe after your trial.

What is GMV? What is Base GMV?

  • GMV = total sales revenue before discounts, returns, or taxes.

  • Base GMV = average GMV of the last 3 months; used to assign your plan using store orders.
