📖 Boost has gone through five pricing generations since launch. Each pricing version only applies to new installs after the launch date, meaning a merchant who installed in 2016 is still on 2016 pricing unless they have migrated.
Legacy pricing plans (before Oct 2025)
We currently maintain four legacy packaging offerings that long-term merchants may still be subscribed to.
Feature Set: Legacy plans retain the specific feature set available at the time of your original setup. Each legacy version varies in its overall capabilities.
Pricing Model: Legacy pricing is typically calculated based on your product catalog size rather than your store's performance.
Legacy plans (all versions released before Oct 2025) are no longer available for new sign-ups. Merchants who joined under a legacy plan remain on that plan until they choose to upgrade or migrate to the latest pricing version based on Gross merchandise value (GMV).
GMV pricing (from Oct 2025 onward)
In line with the modernization of our platform, our default packaging is now designed to evolve with your business and uses Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) pricing.
Moving to GMV pricing offers several distinct advantages:
Transparent Scaling: Costs scale dynamically and transparently with your store's actual revenue success, rather than the number of products you list.
Expanded Feature Set: You gain immediate access to our full suite of modern CRO, AI, and personalization tools that are restricted on legacy plans.
Release year | Pricing model | Status | Notes |
2016 | Fixed monthly fee based on product catalog | Legacy | All merchants on a single plan track. Tiers differ only by product catalog size. |
2020 | Fixed monthly fee based on product catalog | Legacy | First version with a separate Plus track. Same features and product caps; Plus pricing includes premium support benefits. |
2023 | Fixed monthly fee based on product catalog | Legacy | Introduced 3 feature tiers with AI features as optional add-ons. Plus track shares the same features and product caps; Plus & Professional pricing includes CSM and premium support. |
2024 | Fixed monthly fee based on product catalog | Legacy | Non-Plus and Plus track structure identical to the 2023 pricing; same product caps but some unlimited features in previous version became limited in the 2024 version. |
Oct 2025 (GMV pricing) | Monthly GMV-based (% of average GMV) | Current | Default for all new installs. CSM and premium support are included in the Accelerate tier for all merchants regardless of Shopify plan. |
In 2016, we had one pricing structure for all merchants. From 2020 until October 2025, we split our pricing based on whether you used standard Shopify or Shopify Plus. Now, our new GMV pricing completely removes that split. Instead of looking at your Shopify plan type, your price and support level are based entirely on your sales volume and the specific plan tier you choose.
Feature set by pricing versions
2016 pricing (Legacy)
The original pricing launched with the app in 2016 provides essential tools designed to optimize product discovery. It includes core functionalities: dynamic filter trees, merchandising controls, and instant search results. Features are identical across all tiers; only the product cap and price differ.
2020 pricing (Legacy)
Introduced in 2020, this version added a Shopify Plus track alongside the standard Shopify track. Features and product caps are identical between both tracks. The Plus track includes the premium support benefits:
Customer success manager (CSM)
Premium support package
Customization requests
Dedicated infrastructure
2023 and 2024 pricing (Legacy)
This period represented a major milestone in the evolution of Boost Commerce. By integrating AI and Machine Learning into our core technology, we launched advanced capabilities like AI-powered search, recommendations, bundles, and personalization.
Consequently, the application transformed from a basic discovery tool into a comprehensive CRO platform, empowering merchants to improve AOV and conversion rates from the initial search through to the final checkout.
Three pricing tiers in the 2023 and 2024 pricing structure:
Basic: Must-have features for optimized product discovery: filtering, search, manual and static-based recommendations, classic bundles, and merchandising for search results.
Essential: Steps up with collection merchandising, campaign scheduling, and AI-powered recommendations and bundles.
Professional: Everything in Essential, plus unlimited campaigns, post-purchase upsell, A/B testing for Merchandising campaigns, Merchandising by Shopify Markets, frequent sync, and premium infrastructure. Shopify Plus merchants on this tier also get a dedicated customer success manager.
Add-ons in 2023 and 2024 pricing
Merchants on these pricing versions could purchase optional add-ons to unlock features not included in their base plan. The following add-ons were available:
AI Search Pack: AI synonyms, semantic search, scoped suggestions, AI product performance ranking, AI autocomplete
AI Recommendation Pack: recently purchased, AI frequently bought together, AI-related items, one-click post-purchase upsell
Collection Merchandising: collection merchandising + promotional banners (V4 Basic/Essential tiers)
Variants Display: show product variants directly in search and collection results
GMV pricing (Current)
GMV pricing evolves beyond legacy pricing by replacing fixed, catalog-based fees with a GMV-based model. Unlike older plans that didn't align with your actual sales, the latest GMV pricing model scales costs with store revenue, ensuring merchants pay in proportion to the value received. Newer or smaller stores pay less, while high-revenue stores pay more as the app drives more impact.
This new pricing also offers more value by including former add-ons, like AI synonyms, semantic search, and post-purchase upsells, by default. It introduces exclusive capabilities with no legacy equivalents, such as location-based merchandising, embedded bundles, and A/B testing. Advanced personalization (search, recommendations, and bundles) is now available on the Accelerate tier.

The three tiers on GMV pricing are:
Launch: core AI search, filtering, and AI recommendations. A solid starting point for stores building their discovery experience.
Convert: expands into full merchandising, AI-powered bundles and recommendations, and A/B testing. Built for stores focused on improving conversion rates.
Accelerate: the full platform: AI personalization, real-time sync, dedicated infrastructure, a customer success manager, and premium support. Available to all merchants, not just Shopify Plus.

I am on a legacy Shopify Plus plan. Do I get the same Plus benefits on the GMV pricing model?
Regarding GMV pricing, the premium support benefits (customer success manager, premium support package, customization requests, dedicated AWS infrastructure) are tied to the Accelerate tier and are available to all merchants regardless of Shopify plan type. If you are on a legacy Plus plan and migrate to Accelerate on GMV pricing, you retain the same level of support.
