Choosing which Boost features to enable on your store

Choose which Boost features to turn on during setup, what each one shows your shoppers, and how to change it later.

Written by Thomas Ta

📖 During setup you choose which Boost features to turn on for your theme. This decides what your shoppers actually see, and you can change it later.

What each feature does

Feature

What your shoppers get

Filters

Filter options on your collection pages and search results, so shoppers can narrow down products by the attributes you choose.

Search

Boost search on your store, including the instant search results that appear as a shopper types in your search bar.

Recommendations

Product recommendation widgets on your product, cart and other pages, so shoppers see related or suggested products.

What to turn on

You need at least one feature turned on to continue.

⚠️ Anything you leave turned off will not appear on your storefront. If you turn on filters but leave search off, your search bar keeps using your theme's own search rather than Boost. This is the most common reason merchants think a Boost feature is not working.

💪 If you are not sure, turn on everything you are interested in. You can turn features off later without affecting the rest of your setup.

Changing this later

  1. In your Boost app admin, go to Shopify Integration.

  2. Find your theme and click Edit.

  3. Turn features on or off, then save.

Next, set Boost up on your theme by following Set Boost up on your theme.
