How to Integrate and Customize the Boost App with Shopify Themes
The Boost app offers powerful tools to enhance your Shopify store's functionality, including filters and product grid customization. This guide explains how to integrate Boost with Shopify themes, replicate customizations, and ensure consistency across live and duplicated themes.
Overview of Boost App Functionality
Boost enhances your Shopify store by adding widgets for filters and product grids on collection pages. It does not replace your Shopify theme but may require some layout adjustments to match your theme’s design.
Syncing Boost with Shopify Themes
When duplicating a Shopify theme, Boost settings and customizations are not automatically tied to the new theme. To sync Boost with a duplicated theme:
Open the Boost app admin and navigate to Integration > Shopify Integration.
Refresh the page to pull the new theme data.
Locate the duplicated theme and click Integrate.
Toggle on the Boost features you need and click Next.
Enable Boost Core to complete the setup.
For customizations:
Use separate templates per theme if you want unique customization. Duplicate the template and link it to the duplicated theme.
Visual Editor settings and layout/text changes usually carry over with integration.
Manually copy any custom code to the duplicated theme.
Replicating Boost Customizations on a Staging Site
If you are working on a staging site and want to replicate the customizations from your live site:
Apply the same Default template to your staging site if your live store uses the TURBO version of Boost.
Copy the custom code from the live site’s template to the Default template on the staging site.
